Scott’s Story

The Scott Tokessy Memorial Gold Glove Tournament was established in 1996 in memory of Scott, a popular twelve year-old boy who died suddenly of an irregular heartbeat after hitting a home run for his Kanata house league team, in May of that year. The family and community wanted to keep Scott’s spirit alive, and to this day over 50 teams gather at Scott Tokessy field every year to play in his honour in what has become the premier Little League tournament of the region. Proceeds raised from the tournament go directly to the CHEO Cardiology department where the funds go towards equipment and research. Please join us for the 25th Anniversary edition of the Scott Tokessy Memorial Gold Glove Tournament.

To this day the Tokessy family still participate in the planning of the tournament, and you can find them at the main field watching the incredible games and generosity of the volunteers to help such a meaningful cause to their family.
